The Old Mayor’s Office

We have had a very long friendship with the “Alte Bürgermeisterei”.
When we renovated our current home 24 years ago, we passed through Weinolsheim on our way to the construction site.
Most of the time, our attention fell on an old house in the centre of the village – with its eye-catching sandstone windows, it stood unmistakably on Weinolsheim’s “market square”.
What a great building – we all agreed on that!
When the opportunity arose 20 years later to acquire it, we did not hesitate for long.
The idea of the “Alte Bürgermeisterei” was born…
The house was probably built during Napoleon’s time in Rheinhessen.
In addition to its various and changing uses as a prison, registry office, library and kindergarten, the mayor’s office was also housed here for a time – this inspired us to give it the name.

The “Alte Bürgermeisterei” is located in the middle of the tranquil wine village of Weinolsheim. With its seven winegrowers, the village is an excellent place to get to know the Rhine-Hessian way of life.
You can easily reach the nearby state capital Mainz by train from Nierstein. You should not miss a visit to the weekly market at the foot of the cathedral with its legendary market breakfast.
Our house is also very well suited for a longer professional stay due to its proximity to the Rhine-Main area.

We have prepared 2 holiday flats for you in our historic house with great attention to detail.
On the ground floor there is a light-flooded flat for 2 persons, which is modern and comfortably equipped.
On the upper floor you can spend your holiday with up to 4 people. This holiday flat can be reached via a separate staircase. Comfortable and with the special charm of old wooden beams, this accommodation is the ideal place to unwind.

The use of the flats is not possible with pets.

A cosy patio is available for both flats, a gas barbecue and garden furniture are provided.

And if you want to experience a spectacular sunset over the Tuscany of Germany, walk to the Schanzenberghütte, which is only a ten-minute walk away…that’s Rheinhessen-pur!
